SWITCHING GUIDE

## Move thoughtfully. *Keep your audience first.*

A practical checklist for moving from beehiiv to MailCheap. Work through the details before you change where your next issue goes out.

YOUR SWITCHING CHECKLIST

Tick off each step as you go. Progress is kept in this tab only.

0 of 6 steps complete

01

## Audit your must-haves

List paid subscriptions, referral rewards, automations, existing pages and anything else you rely on. Decide how each will work after the move. Do not treat a contact transfer as a replacement for those systems.

02

## Export and keep a backup

MailCheap’s guide directs you to beehiiv Settings → Export data → Export subscribers (full version). Save the original file securely before editing anything. Check the official instructions if your interface differs.

03

## Review the import

With a MailCheap plan, upload the CSV through Contacts → Import. Inspect field mappings and status counts. Only import people who consented. Investigate missing records rather than trying to bypass suppressions.

04

## Prepare your sending identity

Follow MailCheap’s domain setup instructions, then verify your sender details and required postal address. Check signup forms and links. Keep DNS changes scoped to the records your new provider requires.

05

## Test the complete reader experience

Send a test, open it on desktop and mobile, and check every important link. Test signup and unsubscribe flows. Allow time for MailCheap’s staged sending and warm-up process before a time-sensitive launch.

06

## Finish the switch deliberately

Confirm your new workflow works before ending the old subscription. Separately handle archives, publication URLs and any paid memberships. Monitor your first campaigns and keep your exports secure.

### What stays behind?

MailCheap’s guide says historic issues and their statistics, premium tiers, podcasts, website pages and referral rewards do not come across with the subscriber import. Plan for them separately.
